Skin & Facial Aesthetics in Dunwoody,
Sandy Springs & North Atlanta
Chemical peels, BOTOX® Cosmetic, and dermal fillers. These treat skin quality and volume — what surgery does not address — and they are as often used to maintain a surgical result as instead of one.
What Surgery Does Not Address
Surgery repositions structure. It does not change the quality of your skin, and it does not replace lost volume. Those are separate questions, and for many patients they are the more immediate ones.
Before, After, or Instead
These treatments sit in three quite different places in a plan, and which one applies changes the conversation entirely.
- Instead of surgery. Dr. Stephenson offers a non-surgical route that combines skin resurfacing, dermal fillers, and BOTOX® — no operation, and minimal recovery.
- Alongside surgery. A facelift repositions structure but does not change skin quality, which is why peels are often discussed in the same consultation.
- Where surgery is not the answer at all. The frown lines between the brows are muscle, not laxity — a brow lift reduces them but does not remove them, and BOTOX® treats them directly.
- Volume, not lift. The face deflates as well as descends. Filler addresses the first; surgery addresses the second; many faces show both.
Microneedling & Medical Skincare
Alongside the treatments above, ESJ Aesthetics offers microneedling and medical-grade skincare. Both work on the quality and condition of the skin rather than its structure, and both are often planned around another treatment or a procedure rather than on their own.
Dr. Stephenson will tell you whether either suits your skin, and where it should sit in your plan, at your consultation. Call (770) 466-4700 or request one online.
